Privacy Policy
Kemuri doesn't require an account. On first launch a silent anonymous session is created so you can report whether a spot is still there. We never ask for your name, phone number or password.
Location
Your location is read only when you use a feature that needs it: the Nearby tab or “my location”, a verification button, or adding a spot. For verifications and new spots, your coordinates at that moment are sent to our server to confirm you are near the spot, and are stored with the report, linked to your anonymous session ID, to prevent fake reports. We don't keep a continuous location history. If you turn on the Premium “Nearby alerts” and allow “Always” location, your phone's operating system watches a few nearby smoking areas and wakes Kemuri when you get close; this happens on your device only and that location is not uploaded.
Optional email
If you add an email in Settings to sync across devices, it is used only for the confirmation link — never for marketing.
Services we use
- Supabase — stores spots and your reports.
- Google AdMob — ads in the free version; may use your device advertising identifier (only if you allow tracking) and approximate location.
- Firebase Analytics & Crashlytics — anonymous usage and crash data.
- RevenueCat — subscription status, tied to an anonymous purchaser ID.
- OpenFreeMap — map tiles (receives your IP address and the map area you view).
Subscriptions are processed by Apple or Google; we never see your payment details.
Your choices
You can decline the tracking prompt and still use Kemuri. To delete your data, open Settings › Account › Delete my data: it permanently removes your anonymous account, linked email, reports and stored positions. Spots you added that nobody has confirmed yet are deleted; spots other people have confirmed stay on the map without any link to you. You can also write to fenyxiia@gmail.com.
Age
Kemuri is for adults of legal smoking age (20 or older in Japan; the app asks you to confirm) and is not directed to children.
How long we keep data
Verification reports (and the position stored with them) and your anonymous account are kept until you delete them with “Delete my data” or ask us to (how). Anonymous crash and usage data follow Google's standard retention. Subscription status stays with RevenueCat and Apple/Google for as long as the subscription record exists.
Your rights
You can access, correct or delete your data and object to its processing by writing to fenyxiia@gmail.com. Because the app has no account in the usual sense, we may ask you to describe your install so we can find your anonymous record.
Changes
If we change this policy we will update the date above and, for material changes, tell you in the app.
